WRECS: an Improved Cluster Heads Selection Algorithm for WSNs
نویسندگان
چکیده
This article focused on the energy limit property of Wireless Sensor Network, and proposed a residual energy based algorithm WRECS, which is improved on classical routing algorithm LEACH. The algorithm took the normalized residual energy and the cumulative number of the normal nodes supported by the cluster heads as clusterheads selection parameters. In order to balance the energy consumption of each cluster-head, the algorithm took both the different positions of the base station and the initial energy of the network into consideration, and weighted the two factors to balance the energy consumption between transmission and data fusion. Simulation results show that the algorithm can promote the lifetime of the uneven energy network and does not impair the effects of the LEACH algorithm.

An Adaptive LEACH-based Clustering Algorithm for Wireless Sensor Networks
LEACH is the most popular clastering algorithm in Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs). However, it has two main drawbacks, including random selection of cluster heads, and direct communication of cluster heads with the sink. This paper aims to introduce a new centralized cluster-based routing protocol named LEACH-AEC (LEACH with Adaptive Energy Consumption), which guarantees to generate balanced cl...

The limited and non-replenishable energy supply is the main character of Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs). Hence, maximizing the lifetime of WSNs becomes a critical issue in sensor networks. Clustering is one of the most effective means to extend the lifetime of the whole network. In this paper, an energy-aware cluster heads selection method, based on binary particle swarm optimization (BPSO) an...
متن کاملSecuring Cluster-heads in Wireless Sensor Networks by a Hybrid Intrusion Detection System Based on Data Mining
Cluster-based Wireless Sensor Network (CWSN) is a kind of WSNs that because of avoiding long distance communications, preserve the energy of nodes and so is attractive for related applications. The criticality of most applications of WSNs and also their unattended nature, makes sensor nodes often susceptible to many types of attacks. Based on this fact, it is clear that cluster heads (CHs) are ...
